Welcome to our Web site!

This website is designed as an introduction to life with Peter and Donna aboard the sailing catamaran "Two Up" as we experience new cities, countries and cultures.

2010. After a grueling year of adventure in 2009 covering Brisbane to Darwin and the Indonesian Rally visiting the Moluccas, Sulawesi, Flores, Bali, Belitung and Batam, we moved on to Singapore, Malaysia and then Thailand. We are intending to spend the whole of this year in between the west coast of Thailand and the island of Langkawi in Malaysia. When the cruising weather brings boat travel to a close on this coastline, we will venture into the interior with travel through Malaysia, the northern part of Thailand and into Laos and Cambodia. We would love for you to follow our travels and keep in touch with us. See contact details.

2011. 2010 didn't quite work as planned as we spent 4 unplanned months back in Australia and didn't get to do the land traveling that we had intended. This year we start with a trip to Thailand, then fly back to Australia for 6 weeks but have land travel in mind yet again with a trip to London already booked and plans to visit North Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. China would also be good - lets see what happens!

2012. 2011 was a good year where we cruised again in the Thailand/Phuket area and did a number of different countries by land expedition including London, Vietnam and Cambodia and also fitted in 5 months back in Australia for work and family commitments. 2011 also saw the birth of our first grandchild "Azriel" and that saw us traveling to Perth on a number of occasions. Now to 2012 - a 1 month refit in Phuket has been completed and the plan is to leave the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia and spend some time on the east coast before crossing to Borneo. We intend to spend some time in the Philippines before returning to Australia in 2013.

Last Update  Cambodia

10/09/2011 - Langkawi, Malaysia

For ten days we covered three cities in Cambodia, Phnom Penh (the capital), Siem Reap with its ancient temples, and Battambang, the second largest city and a little off the beaten tourist track. Each of these places showed Cambodia in a different light but all still showed the struggles of recovering from the period when the Khmer Rouge ruled with such brutality and destruction just 30 years ago.

The temples of Siem Reap that remain, take you back to a time when the Khmer Empire was very powerful and encompassed South Vietnam through to Burma and down the Malaysian Peninsula between the 8th and the 13th century. The country is a mere shadow of its former greatness but the people are warm and welcoming and very proud.
